Bottled Water

Nowadays everybody has to drink bottled water. In order to travel or to quench the thirst, we buy a bottle of water quickly. Drinking bottled water is a confident move and assumption-based that the water we are drinking will be absolutely dirt free. However, in an American study, it claims that 90% of bottled water is detected with microscopic particles of plastic that are harmful substances for humans. The global brands that were sampled include Aquafina and Bisleri.

Samples were taken from companies providing bottled water to many countries around the world, including India. Researchers at the State University of New York examined 259 bottles from 27 different places in the US. In India, samples were examined in New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. More than 90% of bottled water in the laboratory test was found with particles of microplastic.

Researchers receive an average of 10.4 microplastic particles in a liter bottle of water in a spectroscopic examination. He says that in the last study, it is 2 times with plastic particles found in tap water. It contains elements such as polypropylene, nylon and polyethylene terephthalate. It has been stated in the study that the person who drinks a one-liter bottle of water in a day, consumes 10,000 particles of plastic every year.

It is worth mentioning that with the trade of $ 147 Billion a year in the market, it is the fastest growing beverage industry in the world. However, researchers are not sure about its side effects on the human body. A sample was collected from 19 locations in Brazil, India, China, Indonesia, Lebanon, Kenya, Mexico, Thailand, and America in five continents. To see the invisible particles of plastic in bottled water, the research team used special dye and blue light. The research identified the contaminated particles of size 100 Microns to 6.5 Microns.
